Birmingham Pride 2025

Proud to march forward at Birmingham Pride 2025

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths at E.ON, helping us to not only attract and retain the best talent within our workforce, but also enabling us to truly respect and represent the customers and communities we serve.

Every day, we strive to create a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued and empowered. And championing LGBTQ+ rights is central to our mission of celebrating a culture of inclusion — not just within our teams, but in broader society too.

Building on our active participation in Pride events across the UK and Europe in 2024, including Birmingham Pride, Nottingham Pride, and Christopher Street Day in München, we were proud to continue our support for Birmingham Pride 2025, marking our third consecutive year as dedicated supporters of this vibrant celebration.

As part of our involvement, 75 of our colleagues marched in the parade, accompanied by an E.ON-branded vehicle.  Our impact was evident throughout the festival, with visual highlights showcased in the official festival magazine and displayed on screens throughout the festival grounds. We're here because we care.

Birmingham Pride is one of the UK's largest LGBTQ+ festivals, attracting over 75,000 participants and spectators annually. The event serves as a powerful platform to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and history, and to stand up against injustice and inequality.

“Being on the float during the parade was incredible — the energy was beyond words. What moved me most was seeing the crowd: families waving Pride flags, kids with painted faces jumping with excitement, dancing along to the music. It was beautiful. It reminded me that there is so much support out there — support that outweighs the negativity.”

More than an event

Our commitment to inclusivity goes beyond participation in Pride events. At E.ON, we've introduced a range of LGBT+ friendly policies, including Equal Parent leave, support for colleagues through their fertility journeys, a gender identity and reassignment policy, and a gender-neutral menopause guide. We've also incorporated pronouns into our organisational systems and email signatures and are introducing gender-neutral facilities at our sites.

E.ON has proudly earned the Silver Pride Champion Seal from the UHLALA Pride Index in recognition of our commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion. This recognition underscores the strides made in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across the organisation.

We are proud to stand with our LGBTQ+ colleagues, allies, and communities, and we’re honoured to have celebrating diversity, unity, and love once again at Birmingham Pride.
